Bath House row in Hot Springs is very interesting.  The bath houses were very ornate.  Hot Springs was designated a federally protected site (National Park) in 1832, 32 years before Yellowstone. The hot water (147 degrees) that comes out of the ground is piped into the large bathing rooms.  Fountains, saunas, pools and more were part of these elaborate facilities. 

T.J. demonstrates how one of the hot showers worked. Outside there are hot flowing fountains everywhere.

Donna, you think the water is really hot? Ouch, that's hot!
